How To Install Engineered Hardwood Floors: Steps To Install

Steps To Install Engineered Hardwood Floors

Here are some of the steps by which the customers can easily install the Engineered Hardwood Floors:

Preparing the Flooring

1.Calculate The Size Dimension Of The Floor: The customers need to start by calculating the exact size dimensions of the floor.
2.Let The Engineered Hardwood Floors Acclimate: The customers then need to open the cartons of the hardwood floorings in the room where they are going to get installed. They then need to allow the flooring to sit in the room for near about 4 days so that the Engineered Hardwood flooring planks will get adjusted as per the temperature of the room.

Prepare the Subfloor

1.Remove The Baseboards: The customers need to detach all the baseboards from the wall by using the sharp knife. The customers also need to remove all the other obstacles from the floor.
2.Use The Sander And The Compound: The customers then need to use the sander in order to flatten the floor. The customers need to use the patching compound and apply it all over the dented area on the floor. The customers then need to let the compound dry completely.
3.Clean The Subfloor: The customers need to wipe away all the dust and the debris particles from the floor by using the vacuum.

Install the Engineered Hardwoods

1.Cover The Subfloor: The customers need to cover the floor with the tar paper and they need to affix the edges of the tar paper by using the staple.
2.Place The Spacers: The customers then need to fix the spacers opposite to the wall and they should only use the spacers that are 1/2 inch thick accordingly.
3.Start Installing With The First Row: The customers need to place the first piece of the hardwood plank at one edge of the wall and then they have to lay the other piece of the hardwood plank next to the first hardwood plank. Once the customers completely installed the hardwood planks in the first row they then need to nail down each hardwood plank.
4.Install The Planks In The Second Row: The customers then need to install the hardwood planks in the second row and then nail down the planks accordingly. They then need to use the hammer and lightly tap it over the edges of the hardwood planks. The customers then need to repeat the same procedure while installing the planks in other rows as well. The customers need to affix the edges of the hardwood planks by using the leftover trimmed pieces of the hardwood planks.
