Hanging curtains is not a difficult task but installing them with the help of hooks and rings can be a little tricky if you are doing it for the first time. However, you don't need to worry because we are here to help you out. Go through the below-mentioned three easy and simple steps to hang your curtains using hooks & rings:

Using Hooks

  1. Choose The Hooks: The first and the foremost step is to select the hooks that you feel will suit your curtains the best. In order to place the hook behind the heading you need to make sure that the hooks are of the similar shape as well as size. If in case any of the pins is of great or more than average width then press them in order to make it a bit tighter, which in turn, will help make these hooks secure that will not come off the ring or curtain rail.
  2. Spacing The Hooks: The next step is to space the hooks evenly with the help of a marker. Hook is usually needed in order to make each pinch pleat. To hang curtains you will need total of 9 pin hooks, 7 for each pleat & 1 at each end. After that, turn over the curtain, on itself so that one part of it covers another, in each half on each side and mark them. Repeat the activity and mark them in order to insert the hooks.
  3. Insert The Hook: Now, it is a time for inserting the hook. Insert the hook back through the seam line of each marked point. After that, position the bottom of the ring at the top of the heading. The pin hook should be usually situated at the marked point. If in case you make a pleat, then it is highly possible that the pin is resting inside the pleat. To insert the remaining hooks calculate the length from the top edge of the heading to the base of the hook. Finally, insert the pin hook nearly 1 cm from the side edge. You need to remember that the pin should not be noticeable from the right side. Repeat the same procedure for the other end of the header as well.

Using Rings

  1. Choose Your Clip Rings: Firstly, you need to select type of rings that you will be using with curtains, for example, clip rings. Clip rings are mostly available in a pack of 7 & for hanging curtains you will need odd numbers of clip rings, so 7-9 clip rings will be ideal to use on curtains.
  2. Attach The Clip Rings: Now, secure 1 clip ring one one end, another clip ring on the other end & 1 in the center. After that, turn over the curtain in equal halves on each side and fasten ring clips. Repeating the same process attach another 2 clips. It is better to attach an even number of clips in order to make sure that you get the spacing perfect as you are working with even halves.
  3. Make Pleat Using Ring Clip: Ring clips can also be used in order to make a little pleat. If in case your curtain is too long bend the top over the amount of excess and then the ring clip can take it up after fastening. Finally, squeeze the inner part of the curtain and pin up the curtains by clipping the rings on it.
