How To Hang Curtains Over Sliding Glass Doors: Instructions Of Hanging Curtains Over Sliding Glass Doors

Instructions Of Hanging Curtains Over Sliding Glass Doors

For the most practical house design, sliding glass door curtains are a necessity. There is a sliding glass door in your home. It might have blinds covering it, or it might not be covered at all. It is a possibility to hang drapes over the sliding glass door to increase the room's aesthetic appeal while also providing additional seclusion. But how should drapes be hung over sliding glass doors? It doesn't have to be a challenging or stressful task.

Step 1: Measure Your Sliding Glass Doors

Use a measuring tape to determine the size of your sliding glass doors. The length of the doors, measured parallel to the location where a curtain rod would hang, is the crucial dimension. Pay attention to this measurement.

Step 2: Add Four Inches To The Length Of The Doors

The doors' length should be increased by four inches. Your curtain rod will be the correct length thanks to this attachment.

Step 3: Buy Curtains, Curtain Rod And Curtain Rod Holders

Purchase drapes, a curtain rod, and holders for the curtain rod. Choose curtains that you like and that complement the space where they will be hung. Make sure the curtains are two-panel curtains for simple walk-through accessibility since they will be hung above doors that people will be passing through. Make sure the curtain rod you choose can be adjusted to the appropriate length or is the right length in the first place. Additionally, ensure that the curtain rod leaves at least two or three inches between the wall and the rod itself so that there is space for the sliding glass door below to open and close. Curved rods are a good form of rod that accommodate this kind of area. Keep in mind that curved rods don't need rod holders.

Step 4: Fasten The Curtain Rod Holders To The Wall

Unless otherwise specified in the product instructions, attach the curtain rod holders to the wall near the sliding glass doors using a drill and screws. If you are unsure of the proper placement of the screws, see the instructions that come with each rod. The curtain rod holders should be placed approximately two inches above and outside the glass doors. It should be clear where to set the screws for a curved rod since it normally has two screw-holes, a top and bottom hole, on each end of the rod itself and doesn't typically need holders.

Step 5: Hang The Rod On The Holders And Attach The Curtain

The curtain is fastened after hanging the rod from the holders. The rod normally just lies on the holders and snaps in, however how it does so varies depending on the product. Screws hold some rods tightly in place. If you are unclear, consult the specific directions for the rod. Naturally, if you have a curved rod, it is already hung and securely connected to the wall. Typically, hanging curtains only requires attaching the curtain's hooks to the rod or snapping the curtain's rings to the rod. Again, consult the curtain's directions if you're unsure how to hang it from the rod.
