How To Hang Bed Canopy From Ceiling: Hanging A Bed Canopy From The Ceiling Without Drilling Holes

Hanging A Bed Canopy From The Ceiling Without Drilling Holes

Any bedroom would benefit from having a bed canopy. This lovely bedding accent can add a sense of splendor and peace, transforming your bedroom into a peaceful retreat. A bed canopy is a distinct bed accessory that hangs from the ceiling and should not be confused with a canopy, which is a bed with a tall frame to drape bed canopy drapes on. With a lovely DIY bed canopy, you can give your bedroom a chic hotel feeling that will make every day feel like a vacation. We have a guide that explains how to hang drapes from the ceiling without making holes. What's the trick to this simple DIY project? Use peel-and-stick hooks to suspend curtain rods from the ceiling, then hang extra-long drapes that sweep dramatically against the floor. The end result is a beautiful and opulent canopy bed appearance that will make you feel like a royal and allow you to sleep in complete luxury.

Items Needed

  • Measuring Tape & Pencil
  • Ladder Or Stepstool
  • All-Purpose Surface Cleaner
  • Cloth Or Paper Towels
  • Adhesive Heavy-Duty Ceiling Hooks (6)
  • Canopy Rod (2)
  • Canopies Or Fabric
  • Putty Knife (Optional)

Step 1: Take Measurements For The Canopy And Rod

To choose the appropriate length for canopies and canopy rods, you must take two measurements. To determine the length of your canopy or fabric, first measure the height of your room from floor to ceiling and add one or two inches (the extra length is to ensure the canopies are long enough to drape against the floor). The length of your canopy rods will be determined by adding two inches to the measurement of your bed's length (again, the extra two inches is to allow the canopies a bit of space to drape against your bed).

Step 2: Mark The Corners Of The Bed On The Ceiling

Mark the four corners of the bed on the ceiling with a pencil while standing safely on a ladder or step stool. Next, mark the halfway point between the bed's head and foot on either side using a tape measure and a pencil. You will put three ceiling hooks along each side of the bed in the locations indicated by these marks.

Step 3: Clean The Installation Area

Around the installation marks you produced, gently clean and wipe away any dust using a lint-free cloth or paper towel and all-purpose cleanser. Give the area time to completely dry. The glue on the hooks will adhere to the ceiling more firmly as a result.

Step 4: Install The Adhesive Ceiling Hooks

Follow the manufacturer's instructions to remove the adhesive backing from each ceiling hook, then press each one firmly into the installation marks you established on the ceiling. Ensure that they are positioned such that the hooks are all pointing away from the bed's center.

Step 5: Install The Canopy Rod And Adjust

Each rod should be inserted into a hook along the bed's side. Make sure they are positioned correctly over the bed by taking a step back. Remove the rods after making any necessary modifications.

Step 6: Slide The Canopies Onto The Rods

After hanging the canopies, slide or clip the canopy rods back into the hooks. Now you can achieve the opulent four-poster look without investing in a new bed. Pull the canopies closed, tie them at the corners, or let them fall loosely around the edges of the bed to experiment with the look you like. You adore the ceiling canopy style and want to attempt it in your children's rooms as well. To make a sweet reading area, try draping a canopy tent over the bed or in a corner.
