How To Hang A Cabinet With One Stud: 2 Easy Parts & Steps

2 Easy Parts & Steps To Hang A Cabinet With One Stud

The users can easily hang a cabinet with only one stud by following the 2 easy below-mentioned parts with steps:

Part 1: Prepare The Wall

  • Step 1: Start by using the stud finder so as to locate the old and existing studs. Once the users have located the old studs then they need to spot them. Then they need to mark each one of the studs at the bottom area and at the top area of the wall cabinet where the users are going to install them.
  • Step 2: Then the users need to trim the 3-by-4 inch plywood slices as per the cabinet height so that it should cover the whole installation area. The users are advised to trim the plywood panels as long as to stretch over the three studs for one of the plywood pieces. The users need to spot the panel outline to its exact position on the wall. Then mark up the line over the plywood panels so as to arrange with the center of the stud for the placements of the screw.
  • Step 3: Then the users need to run the plentiful beads of the liquid nails to the reversed plywood side from the screw lines that are around the panel to an inch from the corner. Then apply the liquid nail lines to the inside area of the rectangle to near about 6 inches all around the panel.
  • Step 4: Then apply the pressure over the panels so as to keep the panel into the place by sliding it to the side by side so that the adhesive gets settled down. Then the users need to line up the panel to its outline then affix the screws directly to the studs. The users need to repeat the same procedure while positioning each of the panels. Then affix the panel to the bottom side of the wall so as to install the cabinets.

Part 2: Install The Cabinets

  1. Installing The Lower Cabinet: The users need to slot the cabinets opposite to the panel in order to check the level. Then drill the screws straight from the cabinet back in the panel. Then add up the other unit by checking its level first and then affix it by drilling the screw opposite to the side panel to the first one.
  2. For Installing Upper Cabinet: The users need to follow the same procedure while installing the upper ones.
