Methods, Steps & Items Needed To Remove Water Stains From Polyester Couch

Method 1: Deciding the Right Approach

  1. Check The Couch Tag: There are some tags on the polyester couch, maybe underneath cushions or somewhere else. Find and check some letters present on the tag like W, S, SW, or X. The meaning of these letters is mentioned below:
    • If you see letter W then it means you can use water only to clean the polyester couch.
    • If you see letter S then it means your couch needs only solvent cleaning process.
    • If you see letter SW then it means water and solvent both are safe for the cleaning process.
    • If you see letter X it means do not clean your couch by yourself, it requires professional cleaning.
  2. Make A Right Choice: Be careful, you need to take a right cleaner in order to clean your couch. W marked couch can be cleaned by upholstery cleaner. S marked couch can be cleaned by dry cleaning solvents.
  3. Professional Cleaner: If your couch has letter X then it means, you need a professional cleaner to clean your polyester couch.

Method 2: Cleaning Your Couch

  1. Vacuum: First you need to remove crumbs & debris by using the vacuum cleaner (detachable upholstery brush attached). If your vacuum cleaner is not working or you don't have a vacuum cleaner then you can easily use the foxtail to clean your couch.
  2. Spray: Now, grab your selected cleaner according to the couch tag and spray on the water stains. In case you don't have a couch cleaner then mix one tbsp of vinegar(white), one tbsp of laundry detergent, and one quart of water(warm) before filling it in a spray bottle.
  3. Blot Down: Now, take a clean cloth after spraying the cleaner or mixture and rub the cloth on the affected area with water stains rub gently until it becomes disappear. In case you are not satisfied with the results then repeat this process for one more time.
  4. Fluff: After following every step carefully, now use a soft-bristled brush and rub it on your couch to give a fluffy texture to it.
