Steps To Remove Scratches From Engineered Hardwood Floors

Refinishing the engineered hardwood floors is not an easy task. If the scratches appear on the engineered hardwood floor better is to repair or remove the scratch from the floor surface. The material required to remove scratches from the engineered hardwood floor includes Floor repair wax, Soft cloths, Rubbing alcohol, Floor cleaner, Putty knife, Mop, Cotton balls, and Broom. The steps are given below:
  1. Clean The Surface: The first step is to clean the floor surface by using a mild floor cleaner and allow the floor to dry. Then take cotton balls and wet them in rubbing alcohol and clean the scratched area in order to remove the debris from the scratches.
  2. Prepare The Wax: Next step is to prepare the wax and add color to the wax that matches with the color of the floor.
  3. Applying The Wax: Apply wax on the scratched area by using a putty knife. Apply a layer of wax coat horizontally on the scratched area and fully cover it with wax.
  4. Cleaning Up And Buffing: Take a soft cloth and clean the scratched area so that extra wax removes away from the scratched floor surface. Then rub the surface with another clean cloth to make the surface smooth.
  5. Allowing The Wax To Set Up: Wait for about 6 hours so that the wax dries from the floor surface. Do not allow the pets to walk on the floor surface until it dries.
  6. Maintenance: While maintaining the engineered hardwood do not sweep forcefully on the floor surface. To protect the floor, a regular floor wax can be used on the floor surface to seal it.
