How To Get Gum Off Hardwood Floor: Steps To Remove Gum

Steps To Remove Gum From Hardwood Floor

The user needs to follow certain steps in order to remove gum from the hardwood floor. The steps are mentioned below:
  1. Scrape Off Excess Gum: Scrapping tool is necessary to remove the gum from the hardwood floor. Use a plastic putty knife or butter knife. Always remember not to use any type of metal scrapper because it will harm the hardwood floor.
  2. Ice Cubes: Take an ice plastic bag or ice pack full of ice cubes at least dozen ice cubes are necessary. The user needs to place a cloth or a paper towel between the gum and ice plastic bag and leave the ice for 10 minutes. This process will make the gum harder and easily removable with a scrapper tool.
  3. Plastic knife/ Butter Knife: Now after applying the ice cubes on the gum start scrapping the hard gum with a butter knife or with a plastic putty knife.
  4. Clean The Area: After removing the gum there may be a chance of residue or stain so use the wood cleaner and spray on the affected area and leave for few minutes then wipe the cleaner with a rag cloth.
