Easy Methods To Get Rid Of Candle Wax From Carpet

Carpet is one of the most important product that is placed in the room and it should be neat and clean which in turn make the room look pleasing. But sometimes carpet can get affected with many issues like stain, wax, etc. The issues like these should be removed as quickly as possible. Removing the wax from the carpet can be a difficult task but we are here to help. Simply follow the below mentioned methods to get rid of the candle wax from carpet:

Method 1: Iron Method

  1. Plug In Iron: For this method, start by plugging the iron in the socket if possible near to the damaged area. Keep the iron on the lowest setting and don't use the steam if the iron has this function.
  2. Blunt Knife: Take a blunt knife to remove the excess wax try to remove as much as possible. The user can use the back of a butter knife. The user can do this in the meantime while the iron is heating up.
  3. Brown Paper Or A Paper Towel: Before ironing the affected area it's important to place the brown paper or a paper towel on the affected spot than move iron over it, move the iron slowly while ironing makes sure that user will burn anything. The heat of the iron will cause the wax to melt and get absorbed into the paper.
  4. Re-position: In this step the user needs to re-position the paper and start ironing again on a fresh part of the piece of paper so that most of the wax gets absorbed.
  5. Check For Stains: In this step check the carpet for any stains, in case any stain exists, that time try blotting with the rubbing alcohol onto the affected area using a white cloth or rag. The user should not drench the carpet in rubbing alcohol. The user needs to continue the blotting until stain is no longer on the carpet. The user needs to cover the wet area with a clean cloth and keep some weight on it like books or any other heavy item and leave it there for overnight so that the cloth soaks all the rubbing cloth.

Method 2: Lighter And A Spoon

  1. Freeze The Wax: In this step the user needs to freeze the wax with ice cubes, simply put four or five ice cubes plastic bag, and leave it on the affected area until it is suitably frozen.
  2. Knife: Now take a knife to remove as much of cold wax as possible without damaging the fabric. Then cover any wax that is remaining with the blot paper.
  3. Heat: Now heat the backside of the spoon using lighter for about 5 to 10 seconds, the user can use any other heating gadget in place of the lighter.
  4. Apply The Spoon: While the spoon is still hot rub it over the blotting paper at the affected area, the blotting paper will soak the wax quickly.
  5. Use Different Parts Of Blotting Paper: The user needs to use different parts of the blotting paper and then repeat heating the spooning process and rubbing it on top of the wax.
  6. Cleaning: Once the job is done then its time to clean any remaining residue or dye/stains using the rubbing alcohol or carpet detergent. The method for using rubbing alcohol is the same as mentioned above. For the detergent mix around one 1/2 tablespoon of carpet detergent with 2 cups of clean warm water. Soak a clean cloth in the mixture then remove the excess by wringing it out then cover the stain with the cloth. Start rubbing the area from outside and stick to the affected area only and not spread the wax on another area, continue the process until dye is removed.
