Water can be disastrous for the furniture and can leave them totally damaged. If the water remains on furniture for a long time it will result in furniture swelling, mold, mildew, and stained. In this case, wooden furniture needs proper restoration and repair to make it functional and beautiful again. Here are some of the steps to repair Water Damaged Swollen Wood Furniture:

Cleaning Mold/ Mildew: To clean the mold or mildew individuals are required to take the half bucket of the warm water and add two caps of bleach and three caps of the liquid washing detergent in it and stir finely using stick or brush to create the proper blend. Once the blend is ready take the furniture outside and clean it using a scrub brush dipped into the mixture. Finely scrub the furniture and wash it with clean water using a garden hose or pipe. If the mold persists repeat the steps again until it is removed and allow the furniture air dry completely.
Water Stains: Take the high quality of the wood furniture cleaner and orange oil and apply it on the soft white cloth and clean the stains with it in a circular motion. In case, if the stains are still visible to try to apply mayonnaise with a soft cloth and then promptly clean it with the wood cleaner.
Sanding: If the stain is hard and is not removed use an electric sander along with 220-grit sandpaper for the sanding process. Make sure to take the water damaged portion first and sand it in grain direction. The dust must be removed with the paintbrush to restore the even finish.
Striping: Use chemical stripping agent to vanish the seat staining by using a paintbrush smoothly and let it oxidize. Once the stripping process is complete use 100- to 150- grit sandpaper in order to remove the unwanted stripping agent from the furniture. Dust it well using a paint brush.
Scraping: Use a putty knife in order to scrap the surface finely.
Gluing: Apply wood glue to the loose furniture joints and clamp them well.
Paint: After complete repairing paint or stain the furniture well. Apply atleast two coats to get the even finish. Let the first coat properly dry prior to applying the second one.
Varnish: Once the paint is properly dried the furniture requires the coating of waterproof and insect repellent varnish finely. At least two coats are required to get the task done.
