General Overview

Polyurethane is regarded as one of the best finish that is used to protect and preserve the stain on the furniture or hardwood floors. However, getting an even coat of Polyurethane Finish is a crucial task. The Polyurethane is a thin liquid that makes it easy to apply on the wooden surfaces. Although it is not an easy task to fix the uneven finish, however, due to the thin consistency of the Polyurethane it is possible to apply 2 or three coats of the finish.

Steps To Get Even Coats Of Polyurethane Finish

  1. Sanding: Begin with sanding the surface with the help of the fine-grit sandpaper. However, don't try to sand firmly as they can damage the finish, which they need to be done again.
  2. Clean: Once the sanding is done then wipe away all the sanding dust with the cloth, the surface should be clean before applying the polyurethane finish if in case the area is clean then the dust particles will get trapped in the finish coat.
  3. Apply: Now its time to apply the first coat of the polyurethane finish with the soft brush, allow the first coat to dry completely then check for its evenness. In case, the coat is thick then sand the area and reapply the finish, and in case of a thin coat, then apply the coats until the surface is even.
