  1. If the wood floor starts cupping which means that the subfloor has moisture. The user can fix this issue either by decreasing the room humidity, fixing the leakage of the source or simply adding the moisture barrier under the floor.
  2. Fans: Once the moisture problem is fixed then next step is to use the fan that will help to ventilate the area and dry it out.

Sanding A Cupped Floor

The cupped floor needs to be sanded with a machine that is run diagonally and will flatten the edges more quickly.

Preventing Swelling

  1. Cover: Always cover the sub-floor with the moisture barrier like resin paper, tar paper or plastic sheeting that is stapled to the plywood.
  2. Acclimate The Flooring: This tip means leave the flooring before installation in the room for 3 to 5 days so that it can get used to room environment.
