How to Fix/Repair Split/Broken Hardwood Floor?

Here are some of the steps by which the customers can easily fix the Split Hardwood Floor:
  1. Use The Wood Filler: The customers need to start by filling the split area on the wood floor by using the epoxy wood filler. The Wood filler will prevent the widening of the split on the hardwood floor. The customers need to choose the wood filler of the exact color of the hardwood floor.
  2. Apply The Wood Putty: The customers need to blend the wood putty with the hardener as per the container instructions. They then need to fill the split on the floor with the blended putty by using the putty knife. The customers then need to detach as much as wood putty possible from the split area on the hardwood floor. The customers then need to allow the wood putty to dry completely.
  3. Use The Sandpaper: Once the wood putty is completely dried the customers need to use the 120-grit sandpaper and rub it all over raise putty spots on the hardwood floor in order to create a smooth even surface. The customers then need to apply a layer of the clear finish all over the restored area on the hardwood floor.
  4. Examine The Split: If the split is very wide and cannot be restored by using the wood putty the customers need to completely change the board.
  5. Trim The Board: The customers then need to trim inch apart two aligned lines side to side of the damaged board. The customers then need to trim the board within the two parallel lines by using the hammer and the sharp-edged chisel. The customers then need to detach the rectangular portion within the middle side of the board.
  6. Clean All The Wood Chips: The customers then need to cut the slanted line from each edge of the rectangular shaped cutouts to the equivalent edges of the board and then the customers need to extract board in small portions. They then need to remove all the wood chips within the gaps of the boards by using the vacuum cleaner.
  7. Trim The Replacement Board: The customers then need to calculate the size dimensions of the gap on the floor by using the measuring tape and then trim the replacement board according to the calculated size dimensions by using the table saw. The customers also need to trim the end of the replacement board.
  8. Affix The Boards: The customers then need to apply the carpenter's glue to the underside of the replacement boards. They then need to affix the end of the replacement boards on the floor and then depress the fresh board in the gap. The customers finally need to apply some weight to the boards till the time the wood glue is completely dried.
