7 Easy Steps To Fix/Repair The Slats In Louvered Doors

The users can easily fix the slats in the louvered doors by following the below-described steps:
  1. Gather All The Materials And Tools: The users need to start by gathering all the materials and tools that they require while performing this procedure like doorstop, pliers, cardboard, damp sponge, scissors, push-pin, copper wire, wood glue, and wire cutters as well.
  2. Open The Door: Then unfasten the door in a halfway manner and then balance it out placing a doorstop at the outer corner of the door.
  3. Trim The Cardboard Pieces: Then the users need to estimate the total number of the splinted or the cracked door slats. Then use the sharp-edged scissor so as to trim the 2 pieces of the cardboard and the trimmed cardboard piece should be that much longer to cover the whole door slat.
  4. Trim The Wire: Then the users need to trim the twelve-inch long portion of the insulated wire by using the wire cutters so as to use them in repairing the door slat. Then place the trimmed cardboard pieces and the wire pieces at one place.
  5. Use The Wood Glue: Then they need to pierce the top end of the wood glue bottle by using the push-pin. The users then need to spread a good amount of the wood glue to the cracked area of the door slants at the louver. Then they need to compress the lower and the upper corners of the louver and then clean up the unneeded wood glue by using the damp sponge.
  6. Place The Cardboard Pieces: Then the users need to place the one edge of the trimmed cardboard piece in one of the openings of the louver and then enclose the cardboard piece all around the louver in the area that needs to get repaired.
  7. Twist The Wire: Then the users need to cover the cardboard piece with the trimmed insulated wire and then curl both the wire ends together by using the pliers. Then curl the twisted wire opposite to the lower edge of the cardboard. Then let the wood glue to get dried off completely for almost 1 night and once the users find out that the glue is dried they need to detach the insulated wire and the cardboard pieces as well.
