This is an easy task, however, you need to show patience and a steady hand. With the help of a few common household items, the burn mark will disappear from your carpet for good. If in case the burn mark on your upholstery is exactly the same as a scuff or scorch mark, then you can easily clean it away.
  • Vacuuming: First of all, vacuum-clean the carpet in order to get rid of any debris so that the area is clean. Use your handheld function on your vacuum when you are vacuum-cleaning your carpet.
  • Trim The Melted Section: With the help of the utility knife, trim the burnt or melted section of the carpet. Trim through to the carpet backing, however, be careful not to interrupt the padding underneath.
  • Combine Your Carpet Scrap: Now, it is time to combine or link up your carpet scrap. Trim it in order to fit the removed piece and be sure to look over that the texture is in the same direction so that it doesn’t look obvious.
  • Trace The Pattern On Carpet Scrap: Use the removed piece in order to trace the pattern on the carpet scrap. Trim around it. You want two pieces that should be having the exact shape and size.
  • Remove Any Fibers, Fuzz, Or Dirt: Vacuum the hole in the floor, getting rid of any fibers, fuzz, or dirt. Put down the carpet scrap into the hole to examine whether it fits well or not. With the help of scissors, make any adjustments necessary. Put or spread your carpet adhesive to the padding in the hole.
  • Align The Carpet Scrap: Place or arrange the carpet scrap in a straight line correctly and press it into place. Protect with paper and a heavy book for at least a couple of hours while the adhesive dries. Take out the paper and book. With the help of your wide-tooth comb, brush over the new carpet scrap in order to blend it in with the existing carpet.
