How To Fix Mattress Indentation: Three Easy Ways Of Fixing Mattress Indentation & Sagging

Three Easy Ways Of Fixing Mattress Indentation & Sagging

The indentations & sagging are not always a sign of poor quality. Even some times the most expensive mattress will have the indents or sagging issue. If the user has a new two-sided mattress, that time just flip it. For the single-sided mattress, rotate the mattress as well as use the vacuum to pull the stuffing back into their position. If you are suffering from indentation or sagging issues on your mattress, you need to fix it as soon as possible. The easy ways to perform this task are mentioned below:

Way 1: If Can’t Turn Or Rotate

Older and specialty mattresses usually have two sides. Coils in the center that are surrounded by the foam filling with the plush pillow tops all of them are sandwiched in between. For an old mattress, the best thing is to replace it as no amount of the fluffing will help to remove the indentations, which are likely to sag. For a new two-sided mattress having a pillow on top from both of the sides, in this type remove the body impressions simply by flipping the mattress over. For the single-sided mattress which is common, rotate it in a way so that the head side goes to foot and then with the help of hand fluff the pillow top to remove any of the indentations.

Way 2: Preparaping The Mattress

In this method, first of all, you need to strip off all the bedding, this is also a good time for washing the sheets while the user will work. Keep the dust as well as allergens from flying all around while fluffing the mattress, simply by vacuuming it with the help of a clean upholstery attachment. Start Vacuuming the mattress thoroughly, including all around the perimeter as well as at the spot where the top of the pillow will connect to the foam base.

Way 3: Pillow-Top Filling

Take the vacuum attachment in the hand, then use the vacuum's suction power to pull up the pillow top’s filling back into their place. Starting from the spot of the affected area, simply hold the attachment at one spot just for long enough so that the fabric sucks up and then pull it up a bit with the help of the hand and then release. Repeat this process, working all around the indentations and then slowly towards the center. If required, use the hands to even out all the filling. The user needs to break up any of the clumpy fillings using the tips of the fingers, massage the pillow top as well as pushing it into place using the palms of the hands.

Precautions To Prevent Indentation

  • Rotating the bed after every two months or simply flipping it at least twice a year will easily help to prevent indentations in the mattress.
  • In case of a two-sided mattress, the user needs to rotate the mattress from head to foot after every other time user flips it. If the user shares the bed with a partner, that time try to swap the sides after every few months to even out the wear and tear.
  • When the user has the bed all to themselves, that time take a similar approach, simply by switching the preferred sleeping side on occasion. Outfitting the bed using a padded mattress also helps to reduce the appearance of indentations. However, it is important to note that this will add to the overall thickness of the already thick mattress.
