  1. Remove: Remove the shoe molding or thresholds which overlaps the damaged area. And carefully remove the damaged piece, while protecting the good laminate floor.
  2. Clean: Then clean all the underlay area before going for the new flooring, it is one of the important steps in fixing the issue.
  3. Glue: Once the area is cleaned than apply the glue to the new piece according to the manufacturer's instruction.
  4. Line Up: Now Carefully line up the tongue and groove on both sides and tap the new pieces into the right place, the user can use the scrap piece from the old flooring as the "Tapping Block".
  5. Cuts: If in any case the cuts are needed than pay attention to the groove and tongue of the flooring, in case the new piece is to be fixed against the wall then it should be a cut quarter inch short for expansion. Finally, reinstall the shoe molding and threshold.
