How To Fix Hole In Couch Fabric: Steps To Repair Hole In Couch Fabric

How to Fix/Repair a Hole in Couch Fabric?

The user can repair a hole in a couch before it worsens by following the below-given steps:
  1. Prepare A Patch:
First, the user needs to measure the hole in a couch and cut a piece of fabric similar in size of the hole. It has been recommended by the experts to cut the fabric from a hidden part of the upholstery such as underneath upholstery from the stapled hems. If the user is unable to cut the fabric from the couch, he can visit the craft store in order to purchase a small matching piece of fabric.
  2. Snip Loose Threads:
The next step to follow will be to snip loose threads around the hole by the use of scissors in order to create a smooth & leveled surface. The user needs to make sure that he doesn't snip the hole large.
  3. Wipe The Surface:
After that, the user needs to wipe the surface around the hole by using a damp cloth. The wipe down helps in removing the dirt that may interfere with the repair process to follow.
  4. Glue The Hole:
The next step will be to circle the hole by using a strong fabric adhesive. The user need not to use too much glue because a small amount of glue is enough to create a very strong bond.
  5. Place A Patch:
After that, the user needs to place a patch of fabric on to the hole with the help of tweezers making sure the patch steady on to the hole. The user needs to hold the patch on to the hole until it dries that should not take more than a few minutes.
  6. Remove Excess Glue:
The last step will be to remove excess glue around the patch with the help of cotton swabs. The user needs to complete the step while he waits for the glue to dry. Once the glue dries, the hole will become virtually indiscernible.
