Here are the easy steps to fix the chipped wood corner:
  1. Test: The user needs to know, that which type of finish is applied on the wood. Dip a piece of clean cloth in lacquer thinner, then rub it on the corner of the chipped wood, if the surface gets smooth then it is lacquer if it hard then it is polyurethane or alkyd varnish.
  2. Small Nicks: If the finish of the wood is lacquer then spray lacquer thinner on the chipped area of the wood and wait for some time, then check the wood, small nicks has been disappeared from wood.
  3. Provide Support: The user needs to check, if the chipped area is large, use wood filler and put a scrap of wood under the chipped area. Now spray the WD-40 lubricant on the board.
  4. Wood Filler: Mix catalyst with same color of resin wood filler.
  5. Apply The Mixture: Apply the mixture quickly on the surface of the chipped area, if the mixture dry then it will become hard and the user can't use that. Dry the mixture for a few minutes.
  6. Take Off:Now, use knife (utility) to take off the excess mixture. After the mixture gets harder, now the user can remove wood support. Use a wood rasp or similar tool to give shape to the chipped area.
  7. Make It Smooth And Apply Paint: To make the smooth surface of the chipped area, use sandpaper then acrylic color paint to color the resin wood filler. Apply 2 coats to get the best results.
