Steps To Fix/Repair Broken Wood Bed Frame
Follow the below given steps in order to repair the Broken Wood Bed Frame:
- Strip: First of all, strip the bed frame by removing the mattress and box springs.
- Split: Now open the crack slightly with the help of the screwdriver, simply insert the driver from the inside and make the split open.
- Glue: Now use the best quality glue, and inject it into the length of the crack. Saturate the inside of the crack with glue using the putty knife to smear it.
- Clamps: Now use the bar clamps to tighten the frame until the glue oozes out.
- Reinforce: Reinforce the joint, simply measure the length of the crack and add 6 inchs to the total length, accordinly cut the strip of 1/2-inch plywood.
- Drill Holes: Before using to the bed, its better to pre-drill the scrap piece, drill the hole by providing 2 inches gap betweem them.
- Glue And Screw: Now apply the glue to one side of the plywood piece, and then place it to the affected area from inside, and screw the hole, then allow the frame to dry for the whole night.
