- Detect: Detect your issue first, the most common issue with particle board furniture is that their screws and other hardware areas loosens over a short period of time.
- Repair: In this case, repair a loose screw or other hardware which is installed on your board furniture by removing the screw and other things and then fill the hole by using the carpenter's glue. You can now place the wooden side of a matchstick into the hole and reinsert the screw. This process may need some more matchsticks ends to create required mass to keep the screw in the right place of your board furniture.
- Drill: Next, you have to drill some new holes near the area of the worn-out hole in case your repair will no longer hold a screw or other hardware. Particleboard furniture screws are specially designed for catching the material better than a normal screw, this screw will help to keep the door and shelves in their place. Don't over drill the particleboard screw because it will become loose & stripped.
- Apply: After fixing the screws, now apply carpenter's glue to the chipped and damaged areas in order to make these areas less noticeable. In case your furniture has large chips then glue the chipped area and hold it in place using a furniture clamp. Remove the extra glue by using a soft cloth.
