Things You Will Need

  • Pliers & Thread-Locking Adhesive
  • Gentle Household Cleanser & Paper Towels
  • Rubber Dome Door Stops & Adjustable Wrench
  • Modification Plates & Assorted Nuts And Bolts

Way 1: Thread-Locking Adhesive

  • First of all, you need to remove the mattress & box spring from your bed frame to access your bolts connecting the headboard to its frame. Also, check for the loose bolts holding your headboard to the bed frame. You need to use pliers to loosen the bolts that occur tight.
  • Now you need to apply 4-5 drops of adhesive (thread-locking) to the bolts. Choose an adhesive (thread-locking) which is specially designed for use on the furniture nuts & bolts, so you can easily break the seal in future when moving your furniture.
  • Next, you need to tighten all the bolts holding your headboard to the bed frame. Add further bolts & nuts if you have space to add these nuts & bolts in the brackets that attach your headboard to the bed frame.
  • Finally wait for at least 24 hours for the thread-locking adhesive to sit & cure. Place your box springs & mattress back on your bed frame.

Way 2: Rubber Dome Door Stops

  • Simply remove your box spring and mattress from your bed frame. Pull your bed frame and your headboard away from the wall.
  • Now, clean the back of your headboard with the help of a cleaner (gentle household) to remove any grime & dirt from the surface. Wipe your headboard dry by using a paper towels.
  • Peel your paper backing from the rubber dome door stops. Stick the doorstop at each corner of your headboard. Be sure that you cannot see your door stops from the front of your headboard.
  • Also, add 1-2 additional dome door stops to the center of your headboard for extra cohesion.
  • Push your headboard & bed frame against your wall. Replace your box springs & mattress on the frame.

Way 3: Modification Plates

  • First of all, you need to remove both your mattress & box spring from your bed frame in order to access the bolts holding your headboard to the bed frame. Now you need to use pliers and an adjustable wrench to remove all the bolts securing your headboard to the bed frame.
  • Next you have to position the modification plates betwixt your headboard and the bed frame where the holes in the plates line up with holes in your headboard and the bed frame. The bed frame alteration plate comes with a series of slots cut in the alteration plate. You can all adjust this plate to find the best fit for your bed frame.
  • Attach the alteration plates to your headboard using your original headboard bolts & nuts. Tighten all the bolts to secure these plates.
  • Also, thread the new bolts through with the holes in your frame and the holes in the alteration plate. Thread the nuts onto the bolts and then tighten all the nuts to secure them to these plates. Use further bolts & nuts for added stability.
  • Finally, replace your mattress and box springs on your bed frame.
