Steps For This Process

After collecting all the required items, now follow all the given steps:
  • In order to fix your squeaking bed frame, first you need to get rid of all the mattress and also the box spring from your bed frame.
  • After following the previous step, now you need to locate the source which is the reason of squeaking. Once located, now take a footboard or headboard and smoothly rock your frame back, forth & from one side to another. Note the source & location of the squeak.
  • Now, it's time to dismantle the squeaking joint. In order to do this, you need a screwdriver or a wrench depending on the type of joints used on your bed frame.
  • After following the previous process, now you can apply paraffin wax(thin layer) to all the surfaces of the bed frame joints. Paraffin is easily available in solid bars at many supermarkets. The candle wax will also work best if you don't have the paraffin. In order to apply the lubricant, you simply need to rub the bar against the end of the hooks, rails, bedpost and to any other contact surface from the joint.
  • After applying the candle wax or paraffin, now you need to reassemble your joints & then tighten any screws or the bolts securely. The main reason for squeaking is the friction of 2 or more loose surfaces rubbing together. Paraffin or candle wax will reduce joint friction. Tightening every bed frame joint will easily reduce the amount of possible movement.
  • This is your final step, test your bed frame for squeaks by rocking it again earlier replacing your mattress and also the box springs. Less aggravating squeaks may not become supposed until the major offender is totally repaired.
