How To Fix A Popped Out Screen Door: 5 Easy Steps Of Bringing Back Popped Door To Its Track

5 Easy Steps Of Bringing Back Popped Door To Its Track

A sliding glass door moves in the back and forth motion along a track. The screen doors have two sets of rollers, that are attached at the top and the bottom, and will secure the door in its tracks. Applying too much pressure on the screen door while opening or closing the door can cause the door to pop off its tracks. The directions or steps for bringing it back to its track are as follows:
  1. Vacuuming: The first step is to vacuum all dirt as well as debris from the screen door tracks while the door is out of the frame so it is easy to clean it. Cleaning tracks will help the screen door to move effortlessly in the back and forth direction.
  2. Hold The Screen: Stand outside and then carefully hold the screen door with both the hands at a slight angle. Hold down the bottom of the screen door closer to the feet and the top of the screen door close to the exterior wall. It is important to make sure that the locking mechanism on the screen door is kept to the inside of the house and faces toward the hasp(a piece of metal) in the frame.
  3. Insert The Rollers: Right on the top of the screen door insert the rollers in the door track at the top of the frame. While pushing the screen door up into the track gently walk the bottom of the screen door toward the door opening. The rollers that are on top of the screen door has a spring mechanism that is used to move them up and down. If in case screen door has a small adjustment screw below each of the roller at the top, then rotate the screws in the counterclockwise direction to loosen them slightly.
  4. Lift The Bottom Side: In this step the user needs to lift up the bottom side of the screen door into the track. For that insert, a flat-blade screwdriver under the screen door or under the bottom rollers, this will work as leverage while lifting the door into the track, if required.
  5. Tighten The Adjustment Screws: At the top of the screen door tight as well as adjust the screw if applicable. Continue adjusting the screws while rolling the screen in back and forth direction as this will make sure the rollers stay in the track and also the door moves smoothly.

Important Tip

Spray a little bit of lubricant all along the bottom track if the screen door still sticks or doesn't roll properly.
