Often a snapped or broken cable will also have a broken torsion spring.

    The issue with your garage door alignment may be related to how effectively the rollers on the garage door are running along the garage door tracks if your springs and cables are in good condition. To retract into your garage, the garage door needs to be able to move along these overhead rails. This cannot take place correctly if there is an issue with the rollers or the track, which may lead to a misaligned or stuck garage door. However, if the rollers and tracks are not properly positioned, the garage door may not move all the way up and down or may move only partially.
