Continuous dragging and shifting of the furniture from one place to the will also result in the broken legs due to the fact that it put stress on them. The couch legs make the thinnest part of it and can be repaired using certain steps to make a couch strong again for the longer periods without losing their grip.

Easy Steps To Repair The Broken Couch Leg

Easy steps to repair the broken couch leg are mentioned below:

For Loose Couch Legs

1.Unscrew The Legs: The first step is to unscrew the legs of the couch by keeping it in the back position. Remove T nuts from the legs to unscrew them. Screw the T nuts tight back and check if the wobble has fixed or not. If not then unscrew and remove the legs again.
2.T-nut: Takeoff the old T- Nut with the help of the screwdriver to replace it with the matching T Nuts using a hammer. Now attach the leg back to the couch with the replaced new T- Nuts. Once done check again for the wobbling if it still shows the wobbling signs de-attach the leg and T- Nuts again.
3.T- Palate: Keep the T- Palates on the couch frame by inserting the end of it into the hole from T Nut. The T Palates are specifically designed for the couch legs. Use a hammer to place these palates into the position and insert the 1-inch screws into all four holes of the palate. Use drill driver to insert leg into the couch frame with the help of the T- Plate.

For Cracked/Broken Legs

1.Unscrew Legs: As said above keep the couch into the back position to unscrew the legs. This must be done using the counterclockwise motion.
2.Bolts: Remove the bolts from the legs using pliers.
3.Putty Knife: Take a putty knife to insert it into the gap of the crack to create the space. Take the glue with a putty knife and apply to the crack. Follow up by rubbing it with the fingertip till it gets well saturated. Once applied remove the putty knife.
4.Drill Hole: The hole is required to be drilled through the leg nearly 3/8-inch. Make sure to drill hole perpendicular to the cracks. For longer cracks drilling of the two holes are recommended.
5.Cut Dowel: Use a coping saw to cut the exposed ends of the dowel. Once done sand it using 100 grit sandpaper.
6.Color: Both ends of the dowel needs to be colored with the matching putty crayon.
7.Threaded Bolt: The threaded bolt needs to be screwed back to the leg and attach the legs to the sofa frame again.
