What Are The Steps To Fix/Replace A Broken Chair Rung?

The breaking of the rung in chairs is the most common problem. In Order to repair the rung of the chair, some things are needed like blow hammer, finishing nails, drill, polyurethane glue, sandpaper, rubber gloves, etc. To repair the broken chair rung following steps need to be followed:
  1. Take blow hammer and remove out the broken rung from the joint.
  2. Now remove the old solid glue from the hole with the help of flathead screwdriver. Then using sandpaper remove the old glue from the hole and the rung.
  3. Next step is to take a drill and make a hole in the chair where the broken rung joins the leg of the chair.
  4. Then slightly wet a piece of cloth with water and rub the water on the hole and the rung so that wood enlarge slightly.
  5. Then apply polyurethane glue on the hole and the rung.
  6. Place the rung into the hole and lightly tap it so that it fixes into the joint. Clean the extra glue from clean dry cloth.
  7. Then small nails are predrilled into the hole for the strengthening of the chair.
  8. Then wait for 3 to 4 hours until the glue dries completely. After 24 hours check glue has dried fully and then use the chair for sitting purpose.
