How To Fill Gaps In Wood Trim: Steps To Fill Large Holes

General Overview

The gaps that are visible in between the wood trim and the wall are supposed to be filled before painting because these gaps offer the disappointing impression of the room. The gaps can be painted using the clean finish but as said before the gaps must be filled initially to make the paint look more beautiful and smooth. The best way to fill these gaps is to apply the Acrylic latex caulk inside them.

Steps To Fill The Large Holes/Gaps In Wood Trim

Various steps to fill the wood trim gaps are mentioned below:
1.Caulk Tube: Unseal the caulk tube by cutting its tip at the nozzle. The inner seal also needs to be pierced.
2.Caulking Gun: Insert the Caulk tube into the caulking gun. Apply the tube inside the gap by slowing removing its opening tip. Apply the tub into the 4-6 foot sections rather than covering the entire wall at once.
3.Smoothening: Once the tub is applied take the rag cloth and cover the index finger with the same. Wet the rag covered index finger into the water and rub the caulk filled gaps with the same in order to smoothen it. Keep changing the rag and continue smoothing the filler until the results are achieved.
4.Wipe Off: Remove the excess of the caulk prior it dries and let rest of the caulk to dry as per the time recommendation on the product.
