- Iron Solution: For making the iron solution, drop the steel wool into a plastic bottle full of white vinegar and then seal the cap tightly but make a small hole in the bottle cap. The hole is important because the gases are released during the process of dissolving the steel wool and as a result, the bottle could burst if there is no small hole that will allow the pressure to equalize. The user needs to wait until the steel wool is completely dissolved. This process can take up to a week. After that stain all the solution through a coffee filter for removing any impurities. Then pour it back into the jug.
- Sanding: The user can perform the sanding process any time while waiting for the iron solution to be ready. Make sure to sand the furniture thoroughly.
- Bark Tea Solution: The user can prepare the bark tea solution immediately before starting the staining process. Simply dissolve one heaping tsp of bark powder into a pint of hot water and stir well.
- Apply The Bark Tea Solution: With the help of a small paintbrush, start applying the bark tea solution to the wood. Although the wood should be completely soaked, be sure to use a paper towel to remove up any of the solutions that are pooled on wood.
- Apply Solution: Apply the solution with smooth brush strokes but apply when the wood is still damp with the bark tea, but not wet. Let it dry then apply a second coat. At last Wash the furniture with the clean water.
