Easy Step By Step Way To Drain A Waterbed With A Pump

A waterbed is a kind of a bed or a mattress that is jam-packed with water. This bed is particularly used to give its user a comfortable sleep & rest at night. But one of the main drawbacks of using a waterbed is that it is not easy to move from one place to another. If in case you are changing your place of living & wants to relocate, then this bed is very difficult to move. This is due to the fact that it is jam-packed with water making it heavy weighted & it approximately weighs around 1500 pounds. So if you need to move a waterbed from one place to another, then you first need to drain the water from the mattress. There is a device available for draining the water into the bathroom sink from a waterbed mattress, which is known as a Venturi Siphon Pump. In order to drain the water using this kind of pump, go through the step by step way mentioned below:
  1. First of all, make sure you loosen up the waterbed heater day before starting to drain the water from the waterbed mattress. After that, add anti-mold strengthener to the water & on the particular day of draining, unscrew bathroom valve ventilator from the stream. Fasten the valve connector for the venturi pump into the bathroom valve spout and then fasten the top end of the venturi pump onto the valve connector. Fasten the female connection of the drain channel onto the male channel fastener at the side of the venturi pump.
  2. Now, drag the fill nozzle of the mattress up & get rid of the cap and inner seal. Rout out any air trapped in the mattress. Fasten the waterbed drain & fill connector to the drain channel by fastening it onto the male end of the channel. Install the other end of the connector into the mattress fill nozzle and push it down into the fill nozzle to make a compact seal. Place heavy books or other weights around the fill nozzle in order to make sure the connector's end continues to remain underwater.
  3. Next, place the venturi siphon pump into fill position by propelling up the drainpipe at the bottom of the pump and turning it dextrorotatory direction. Switch on the cold water at the valve and then occupy the mattress until all air is removed from the drain channel before switching off the water. Place the pump into the drain position by dragging down the drainpipe at the bottom of the pump and turning it anticlockwise. Switch on the cold water again in order to begin the venturi siphon action. Make absolutely sure that the venturi pump is vacuuming water out of the mattress & this process may take about one to three hours. Once the majority of the water is drained out of the mattress, turn up the head end toward the foot end to move the rest of the water down to the drainpipe.
  4. Finally, lay out the towels all over the place of the fill nozzle in order to apprehend any water spills when you detach the drain pipe. Once the waterbed mattress is totally empty, switch off the bathroom valve and drag the drain & fill connector out of the fill nozzle. Replace the seal and cap on the fill nozzle as soon as possible. Complete tossing up the mattress and raise it out of the bed frame. Detach the drain valve from the venturi pump and drain & fill connector. Unfasten the venturi pump and valve connector from the bathroom valve and put them in a reusable plastic bag together with the drain & fill connector for the mattress.
