How To Distress Wood With Chalk Paint: 5 Easy Steps

5 Easy Steps To Distress Wood With Chalk Paint

Here are some of the steps by which the customers can easily distress the wood product with the chalk paint:
  1. Clean The wood Surface: The customers need to start by cleaning all the dust and the debris particles from the wood product by using the vacuum. They need to pour some drops of the grease-cutting cleaner to a soft sponge and then rub the damp sponge all over the surface of the wood product.
  2. Apply The Base Colour: Once the wood product is free from all the dust and debris particles the customers then need to choose the chalk paint base colour as per their taste. They need to apply the base colour to the wood product by using the paintbrush and then allow the paint to dry completely.
  3. Apply the Second Coat Of Paint: Once the base colour is completely dried the customers then need to choose another chalk paint colour of their choice and apply it to the entire surface of the wood product. They then need to let the chalk paint dry completely
  4. Use The Chalk Wax: Once the chalk paint is completely dried the customers then need to apply a layer of the Chalk Paint Wax to the wood product by using the wax brush. They then need to wipe all the excess wax from the wood surface by using the lint-free cloth.
  5. Using The Sanding Pads: Once the wax is completely dried the customers then need to use the Sanding Pads or the sandpaper and rub it over the top paint coat in order to expose the base colour. The customers finally need to seal the wood product by using the clear chalk wax.
