5 Easy Steps Of Cutting The Cellular Blinds
Installing the cellular shades, in the windows offers a number of benefits. They are beautiful blinds that offer excellent insulation for the windows, and it consists of two separate layers of the polyester fabric which are joined together. The cellular shades come in different styles as well as in colors and are usually custom cut to size. It is cost-effective to cut down the existing blinds as per need rather than buying new ones. The steps for cutting cellular blinds are mentioned below:
- Remove: In order to start the process, the first step is to take down the cellular blinds from the window and then lay it down fully extended on a flat surface. The user needs to determine the length that the roller would be as per the need, with the help of a measuring tape. The best way of measuring the blinds is from the end of the round pin right to the flat pin from the opposite side. Take a pen to make and mark the spot where the user needs to cut the roller.
- Staple Remover: With the help of a staple remover pull out the staples, but only on the section that will be no longer in use. It is totally unnecessary to take out the staples from the fabric that are still going to be used. From one end remove the metal cap as well as the round pin with the help of pair of pliers and pull it straight off. Always cut the end using the round metal pin.
- Hand Saw: With the help of a hand saw cut the wood roller off exactly at the mark made in Step 1. Replace the metal cap with the pin by lightly tapping it back in its position with the hammer.
- Pen: Take a pen to make a line where the user needs to cut the fabric from one side. From the top to the bottom of the fabric make a straight line with the help of pen as this will be a guideline.
- Wood Slat: From the slat pocket remove out the wood slat before cutting it. Use sharp scissors to cut down the fabric. With a saw cut the wood slat at the exact spot and then put it back. Hang the cellular blinds back on the window and then make sure that it is the appropriate width as per need. However, this may need further adjustments.
