How To Clean Sofa Upholstery At Home?

It is necessary to check the labels first before starting to clean the sofa upholstery at home. Prepare Sofa For Cleaning

  1. Prepare Mixture:
    First, the user needs to prepare a mixture containing 4-parts warm water and 1 part of washing-up liquid that needs to be mixed together until it creates a thick foam that can spread.
  2. Rub The Mixture Into The Stain:
    The next step will be to rub the foam mixture with a soft bristled brush into the stain until the user sees the lift into the foam mixture.
  3. Remove The Dirty Foam:
    The next step will be to remove the dirty foam using a spoon, a spatula, or any other thing that won't rub the fabric.
  4. Wipe Away The Surface:
    Once the dirty foam mixture is removed, the user needs to wipe away the entire surface using a clean white cloth in order to take off the leftover suds from the stain.


Removing Tough Stains

In order to remove stubborn stains, the user needs to follow the below-given steps:
  • Prepare Mixture:
    First, the user needs to prepare a strong cleaning mixture containing one part of white vinegar and another part of cold water in equal amounts.
  • Blot The Fabric:
    Then, the user needs to blot the fabric upholstery with the prepared mixture and wait for a few minutes.
  • Wipe Out The Stain:
    After that, the user needs to wipe the stain away using a clean microfiber cloth and rubbing it gently on to the stain.
  • Wipe Over The Cleaned Area:
    The next step will be to wipe over the cleaned area with a combination of tepid water and washing-up liquid. It has been recommended not to use much water as it can cause the fabric to shrink and can leave the stains behind.
  • Let It Dry:
    The last step will be to let the sofa dry naturally and once it dries completely, the stain will be gone as well.
