How To Clean Pee Off A Couch: Two Easy Methods

Two Easy Methods To Clean Pee Off A Couch

If you have a pet at your house, then it is common to have pee smell or stain on your couch, if you want to clean pee off a couch then there are many easy ways to finish this task. Here are the 2 easy methods to clean your couch from pee. Read and follow the suitable method and steps:

Method 1: With Vinegar And Baking Soda

  • First of all, you need to blot the pee stain with your paper towel. Don’t rub the pee stain, because you will easily spread it further into your fabric. Keep blip the wet spot by using your paper towel until the pee spot is essentially dry & you need to use new paper towels as essential.
  • You can also clean the pee spot with a mixture of water & vinegar(white). Now simply put one part of your distilled white vinegar and 4 parts of clean water in your spray bottle or basin. Soak your fabric with this solution to remove the smell and stain.
  • Scrub the pee stain with your sponge. Use your sponge which you don’t mind tossing out when you've finished your work. Simply scrub hard from the inside area of the pee stain toward the outside to get all the pee out from your couch fibers & surface so there is no stain or odor left behind.
  • You can also sprinkle baking soda on your fabric while the pee is still wet. Use enough baking soda to comprehensively cover the wet spot. About 1 cup (520 g) should be satisfactory.
  • Let the sprinkled baking soda sit overnight. It’s best to let the sprinkled baking soda sit for near about 12 hours to ensure your fabric underneath it is dry wholly.
  • Finally, vacuum up your baking soda. Simply run your vacuum cleaner over the spot to remove your baking soda once the fabric is completely dry. The pee stain and the smell should be gone from your couch.

Method 2: With A Dish Soap, Baking Soda, And Hydrogen Peroxide Solution

  • Pat the pee stain with your cloth in order to soak up any extra pee but do not press hard, because you will spread the urine farther into your couch. As you would with any spilled liquid solvent, just press your cloth into the wet pee spot to absorb any extra liquid.
  • You can also mix the hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and baking soda together. Now you need to put 2-3 drops of your dish soap & 3 tablespoons (44.4 ml) (42 grams) of the baking soda & 1.25 c (300 mL) of 3% of your hydrogen peroxide in your spray bottle. Replace the cap & then shake your bottle to mix up all the ingredients.
  • Spray your solution on your couch and let it sit for near about 60-70 minutes but be sure to fully penetrate all parts of the pee stain. Do not blot it up right away— be patient and give some time to work.
  • Now you need to rinse away your detergent residue with your damp cloth. Mildly blot the pee stain with your damp rag to rinse the soap solution out, then you need to blot it with your clean & dry cloth. This process will only take a few hours for the pee spot to dry completely & your couch will be good as in a new condition.
