Instructions To Clean Outdoor Fabric Cushions

There are a number of easy to maintain fabric outdoor cushions available in the market in an array of colors & textures. All these outdoor cushions are resistant to mildew and sun damage. In order to clean such cushions, the user needs to follow the below-given instructions:
  1. Check Tags & Instructions:
    The first and far most thing to do for the user will be to read labels of cushions in order to find out the filling content and fabric of cushions. The user needs to follow the cleaning instructions provided by the manufacturer on the cushion tags and in case, the tags are missing, the user can check the instructions from the manufacturer's website.
  2. Maintenance Of Cushions:
    By maintaining the cushions day to day, the user can easily avoid complicated cleaning operations. The maintenance can be made by brushing the cushion surfaces regularly with a whisk broom that will cut down on stains from visiting plant debris & insects. Also, if the cushions get soaked by an unexpected shower, the user can speed up the drying time of cushions by turning them on to the edge. For accidental spills, the user needs to sop it up with a clean rag and a paper towel. Apart from that, the user can prepare a mixture containing 4 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of borax, and 1 teaspoon clear dishwashing liquid soap in a spray bottle for continuous use. As soon as, the user finds any troublesome spot on to the cushions, he can spray it with the mixture and let it soak for 15 minutes before rinsing it with the water in order to remove soap residue for the cushion. The cushions can be set to air dry by placing them on to the edge.
  3. Heavy Soiled Cushions Cleaning:
    With the course of time, cushions become discolored or soiled but can be refreshed again with a thorough cleaning. For the cleaning of non-removable cushions, the user needs to sponge cushion surfaces in a solution containing 1 gallon of lukewarm water and a 1/4 cup clear liquid detergent. The user has to work bubbles inside fabric with a sponge and rinse the cushion with high pressure in order to remove detergent residue from it. The removable cushions can be washed by hand by soaking them in a solution containing 1/4 cup of clear liquid detergent in per gallon of lukewarm water and then rinse it well afterward to remove detergent residue. The user needs to let the cushions, as well as cushion covers, air dry.
  4. Stains or Mildew Cleaning:
    For persistent stains or Mildew, the user can make a strong solution containing 1 gallon of water, 1/4 cup clear liquid detergent, and 1 cup chlorine bleach. The user needs to saturate stain areas with the solution and brush the areas with a soft bristle brush. The soak time for the solution is 20 minutes before the cushion has to rinse with high pressure in order to remove detergent and bleach residue from it. The cushions need to be air dry before putting to use again.
