The blinds usually gather up the dust like any other item within the house but the dust on the blinds becomes solid because the blinds are directly exposed to the sun. The users can easily clean the blinds at home by using mild cleaners and soft clothes as well. Way I- Cleaning Up The Blinds When They Are Hanging
- Use The Vacuum: Start by vacuuming the blinds and then close up the blinds. The users are advised to affix the brush to the vacuum while cleaning up the blinds or they can also use the dustbuster and vacuum down the one phase of the blind. Then they need to open up their blinds and clean up the other side of the blinds.
- Use The Microfibre Cloth: The users are advised not to use the feather duster as it can easily push all the dust directly in the air and that is why they are advised to use the microfibre cloth or the soft rag. Then they need to hold them tightly in one hand and then gently hold the blind with the other hand and then clean up the front as well as the back portion of the blinds.
- Make The Mixture: The users can also clean them by using the mixture of the vinegar and the water and to do so they need to combine the equal amount of the vinegar and the hot water in the medium-sized bowl. Then they need to soak up a soft rag or the microfiber cloth in this solution and ooze out all the excess water from the rag or cloth. Then they need to squeeze out each mini blinds in between the damp rag in their hands and then cleaning up the back and the front phase of the blinds at the same time. The users can also cover their hands with the wet cloth and then rub down each one if the blind slat in between their fingers and the thumb. This process works great with the blinds that are made from the plastic or the metal material. The users are advised not to make the wooden blinds too wet and make them dry as soon as possible by using the dry towel.
Way II- Soaking The Blinds Directly In The Bathtub
- Take Down The Blinds: Start by taking down all their blinds and the users are advised to close them before they are taking it down as this will make their task easier. If in case the users are cleaning up many blind sets then they are advised to label them at the base by using the pencil. Then the users will easily rub off the pencil mark after they hang up the blinds back to its place.
- Fill The Tub With Water And Liquid Soap: Then the users need to make their tub ready and to do so they need to fill up the tub with the water and then add few drops of the liquid soap to it. If the blinds are very dirty then the users can also add vinegar to the water.
- Fill The Tub With Hot Water And Bleach: In order to clean up the white blinds the users need to add the bleach to the warm water in the tub. While cleaning up the white blinds the users are advised not to use vinegar or the liquid soap. While applying this mixture the users are advised to wear up the hand gloves so as to protect the hands from the harsh impact of the bleach.
- Clean The Blinds: Then the users need to lay down one blind set inside the tub and then they need to use the sponge or rag so as to rub-down the dirt from the set of the blinds. Then the users are advised to allow the blinds to remain soaked in the water for almost 1 hour. Then they need to remove the blinds from the tub and then rinse it well.
- Dry The Blinds: Once the users rinsed their blinds they need to shake it slowly so as to get rid of the unneeded water and then place them over the clean towel till they are not air-dried completely.
Way III- Cleaning The Blinds Outside
- Take Down The Blinds: Start by taking down all the blinds and then place them over the plastic tarp or the old cloth in the outside area. If desired the users can directly put them over the grass. The users can select this process if they are having the large-sized blinds that cannot fit into the bathtub.
- Spary Down The Blinds: Then they need to spray down the blinds with their house and if in case the blinds are open then they need to spray down them once and if the blinds are closed they need to gently turn them to other side and then spray down that side as well.
- Use The Vinegar And Water Mixture: Then the users need to make a mixture of the water and the vinegar and then apply that solution to the entire surface of the blinds by using the soft rag or sponge. If the users did not want to use the vinegar they can easily use the biodegradable soap and then rinse down them again by using the hose respectively.
- Dry The Blinds: Finally they need to place their blinds over the old towels so as to smudge out all the unneeded water and allow them to get dried off completely. Once the blinds are dried off perfectly the users need to hang them again to its original place.
