How To Clean Microfiber Couch With Carpet Shampooer/Cleaner?

Carpet Shampooer also known as steam vacuums is a process of cleaning the carpet by steam vacuuming. The vacuum is filled with shampoo or detergent during the cleaning process and the same process can be used to clean a microfiber couch. All the user needs to do is attach an upholstery attachment with the steam vacuum and follow the below-given steps:
  1. Vacuum The Couch:
The first step will be to vacuum the whole couch in order to remove the debris & dirt from the surface. During vacuuming, if necessary, the user can remove the cushions of the couch as well in order to clean all its sides along with crannies and nooks.
  2. Run Lint Roller Over The Couch:
After that, the user needs to run a lint roller over the microfiber couch in order to remove pet hairs from it. The step is necessary because pet hairs can be lint off easily when dry and become hard to remove once they get wet with a steam cleaner.
  3. Prepare Steam Cleaner:
The next step will be to prepare a steam cleaner by filling its chamber with water. The user also needs to pour recommended cleaner inside it according to the directions of the manufacturer.
  4. Spot Testing:
Once the steam cleaner is ready and has warmed up, the user needs to run the upholstery attachment on the hidden spot of the microfiber couch in order to check whether the chemical & microfiber react with each other or not. The reaction can be determined by colorfastness, deterioration, and fading of a material. If there is no reaction, the user can proceed forward.
  5. Steam Clean Whole Microfiber Couch:
After that, the user needs to steam clean the whole microfiber couch by sliding the upholstery attachment over the back and sides of the couch along with the back of the cushions. It has been recommended to overlap each stroke and as the brush is brought back, the steam cleaner will leave an appropriate amount of cleaner.
  6. Clean Most Soiled Areas:
The next step will be to press the button and pull the upholstery attachment backward over the areas that are most soiled. By doing so, the steam cleaner will leave extra cleaner on to those areas. The experts recommend not to over saturate the couch as it can cause water stains on the microfiber couch. Also, the upholstery attachment needs to be pushed several times over the dry areas that suck up the moisture.
  7. Smooth The Nap Of Microfiber:
The last step will be to smooth the nap of microfiber using a lint-free towel and brush the towel over the cushions in order to remove the marks of upholstery attachment.
