Items Needed

  1. Paper Towels
  2. Rags
  3. Absorbent Cloth
  4. Spray Bottle
  5. Small Bowl
  6. Stone Sealer
  7. Plastic Wrap
  8. Tape

Method 1: Quick Cleaning

  1. First of all, you need to wipe down your marble shower after every use due to the fact that the soap chemicals can hurt the marble. You just need to use a cotton rag(dry) or dishcloth to wipe out any moisture from the walls and basin of the marble shower.
  2. After that, you need to fill your spray bottle with some warm water and 14.7 ml of non-abrasive, pH-neutral & dish soap. Only select that dish soap which does not contain any abrasives such as stone and sand and also does not contain any type of acids like citrus, lemon, and vinegar.
  3. Next, you need to spray this mixture onto the marble shower and then rub it with the help of a damp cloth. Next, coat your walls and also your basin of the shower with this solution and then rub your solution in a small circular motion. Continue your work around the shower in small circles, intensify on any built-up dirt & mildew.
  4. Then start rinsing your shower, you need to use a bucket or showerhead of clean water for rinsing the whole of your shower down, including the walls. It is very important to remove any remaining soap because it can sink into the marble and cause the reason for stains.
  5. Dry your shower simply by using a squeegee or absorbent rag to dry off the marble shower entirely. You need to dry down the shower after every use, but you can do more extensive cleaning with the help of mild dish soap and water 2-3 times a week should keep your marble also looking fresh & clean.

Method 2: Cleaning Deep Stains

  1. Firstly you have to mix one part of baking soda with 3 parts of water. Simply combine this ingredient in a small cup or in a bowl. Mix this ingredient well until the baking soda absorbs the water and becomes a thick paste.
  2. Next it is time to apply the paste to the stains of your marble shower. First of all wear gloves and then you need to use your hands to smear this paste over the stain affected area on your shower. Target any blemish or built-up mildew that cannot be cleaned by basic cleaning.
  3. Now you need to cover the applied paste with the help of a plastic wrap. Simply you need to tape the ends of your plastic wrap to stay it in place. You don't need to cover all the edges in tape so that your marble shower can breathe.
  4. Next let the applied paste sit on the marble shower for at least 24 hours because this paste will dry and will also absorb the stain under it. When this paste is ready then it should be hard & dry.
  5. Finally you need to rinse and then wipe down the applied baking soda. Simply you need to remove the baking soda paste from the shower by rinsing down the shower and then wipe the stain affected areas by using a rag. If you see that any stain is still visible then you need to repeat the steps until it is totally removed.

Method 3: Sealing

  1. First you need to test whether the shower needs to be sealed or not. If you have a white marble shower then you don't need to seal your shower. Test your shower if there is a sealer by simply putting some drops of water onto the surface of your shower and then allow the water to dry for at least 10 minutes. If you see that the area is dark then it means that the marble has absorbed the water drops and needs to be sealed again. If the sealer has amalgamated on top of the marble then it means that it's already sealed.
  2. Next, you need to dust & clean inside of the shower by using a damp rag. Wipe down the shower with the help of a damp rag & water, then dry it with a clean rag. Be sure that the shower is dry and free of any dirt before you start sealing process.
  3. After that, you need to spray down the shower with the sealer and then wipe it in. Spray down the marble shower with the sealer and then you need to use a sponge or a rag to wipe your sealer in. Work from the top of your shower to the bottom of your shower and then you have to try to apply even coats all through it.
  4. Next you need to allow the applied sealer to soak for at least 15 minutes and during this period your sealer will be absorbed by your marble shower. You will see that your marble will turn a darker color as it absorbs the applied sealer.
  5. Then, you have to wipe off any extra sealer on the surface of the shower. You just need to use a dry absorbent cloth to remove any extra sealer that pools on the top of the shower, because any extra sealer that's pooled on the surface of the marble shower or absorbed, needs to be removed for the appearance & the health of the marble shower, as remaining sealer can stain it.
  6. Finally you need to allow the applied sealer to set for at least 24 hours. Let this applied sealer fully absorb and dry into the marble shower before trying to use the marble shower again. You need to seal the marble bathtub for at least once in six months.
