Easy Ways For Cleaning Every Stove Top

The Spills and foods which boils over make a nasty mess on stovetops. Once the spills get dried, they are hard to remove. Be sure the stove is turned off and is cool before starting the stove cleaning process. It is highly advisable to not use the abrasive cleaners or pads that can scratch surface badly, and for best results, keep stovetop neat and clean by simply wiping it daily with warm clean water and a little dishwashing soap. Below the user can find out the easy ways for cleaning every type of the stovetop:

Way 1: Clean An Electric Stovetop

  1. Switch Off: Before starting the cleaning process for an electric stovetop it is important to make sure it is turned off and cool.
  2. Cloth Or Sponge: The next step is to use a cloth or sponge to wipe out the top using a warm soapy water. Some of the coil burners are self-cleaning, but still foods can get build up. If they are dirty, then lightly wipe them & at last wipe everything with clean water.
  3. Burners: Turn the burners on high, so that it will burn off anything that may be left on them. Open a window or use the stovetop fan so that the burning smoke is removed. Once the smoke stops coming out from the burners then turn them off and let them cool completely. After that remove them and clean any remaining debris with a dry and lint-free cloth.
  4. Continue Cleaning: The user needs to continue the cleaning process by removing the drip pans and soak them in hot, soapy water. In case they are really dirty, that time put them in a zipped, plastic bag and add a little ammonia and leave the bags overnight. After that rinse them with clean water and dry using a lint-free cloth.
  5. StoveTop : For the stovetop make a paste from a half-cup of baking soda and 3 to 4 tablespoons of water, use a soft scrubber or other non-abrasive kitchen cleaning tool.
  6. Underneath Cleaning: Use a plastic knife or spatula to remove off any hardened foods under the stovetop and wipe the area with warm, soapy water. In order to avoid electrical shock, its important that water should not go in the burner connections.


Way 2: Gas Stove Top

  1. Turn Off Gas: Before the user begins the cleaning process it's important to make sure that the gas to the stove is turned off and the burners are cold.
  2. Remove The Grates And Reflector Pans: It is very easy to clean the Gas stove if the grates and reflector pan from the stovetop are removed first and soak them in hot soapy water, let them in a solution for 15 to 20 minutes. After that remove them out and gently scrub off any gunk using a mesh pad as it won’t scratch them.
  3. Remaining Grunge: In order to remove the remaining grunge use the warm, soapy water or a stovetop cleaner paste that is made from baking soda and warm water applied in the same way as mentioned above.
  4. Grates And Reflector Pans: Use the same paste for cleaning the grates and reflector pans. The user needs to use a plastic spatula or plastic knife to remove away dried food on the stovetop. However its highly advisable to not scrape with anything made of metal, as it can leave scratches. To wipe off the scrapings use a damp cloth.
  5. Wipe And Dry: Atlast finish by wiping the stovetop with water. For dry use a fresh cloth and reassemble everything.


Way 3: Black Glass Stove Top

  1. Regular Clean: The user can easily clean the glass stove top daily by spraying it with a little warm water or with a distilled white vinegar and wipe it off with a microfiber cloth but when the stove is cool. Dry it with a lint-free cloth and polish it.
  2. Deep Cleaning: For the more thorough cleaning, spray it with distilled white vinegar and sprinkle some amount of baking soda over it but again when the stove is cool. After that moisten a towel in the hot water and then drape it over the vinegar and baking soda.
  3. Pick Up The Towel: Let the towel to sit on the area for about 10 minutes, pick up the towel and use the same towel to scrub the stovetop. Spray some more vinegar on the stovetop and wipe it again this will give it a nice cleaning. Once all the build-up is gone, after that polish any steaks on the black glass with the help of dry microfiber cloth.

Way 4: Heavily Soiled Glass Stove Top

  1. Razor Scraper: In case of the heavily soiled glass stovetop, the user can use a razor scraper to remove any hardened or sticky foods. However, it is important to use a razor only if its recommended in the owner's manual.
  2. Distilled White Vinegar: Spray the distilled white vinegar on the build-up to soften it. After that use, the scraper then gently and slowly scrape the debris, try to use the scraper as flat as possible. For the loosened debris wipe away with a clean, microfiber cloth and repeat as needed.

Way 5: Ceramic Stove Top

  1. Baking Soda: For the ceramic stove top sprinkle the baking soda over the cooktop. If the stovetop is really grimy, then apply a heavier layer of baking soda.
  2. Large Rag: Take a large rag and soak in soapy water. Place the rag on the area but it should be large enough so that it covers the entire area on which the baking soda is applied. Lay down the rag over the baking soda on the stovetop and wait for about 15 minutes.
  3. Wipe Away The Baking Soda: After the 15 minutes lift the rag and use it to wipe the stovetop. Move the rag in a wide circle and clean the area where the baking soda is applied. To clean out the remaining baking soda residue use a damp sponge or another damp dishcloth and allow it to air-dry.
  4. Avoid Ammonia-based Cleaners: It is highly advisable to avoid ammonia-based cleaners as it can lead to the iridescent stains on the surface.
