Step By Step Guide Of Cleaning A Jetted Tub Without Using The Bleach

The jetted tubs usually accumulate soap materials, as well as other gunk in the jets with the span of time. Cleaning the jetted tub will need to use some of the common household cleaners to take care of all the grime. The step by step guide of cleaning a jetted tub without using the bleach is as follows:
  • Fill The Tub With Hot Water: First of all, fill the jetted tub with the hot water, about 2–3 inches above the highest jets. Simply, turn the hot water on and leave it to fill the tub and then turn it off once the jets are filled by 2–3 inches of water. Clean the jetted tub after every 1 to 3 months if using the tub daily or several times in a week. At least clean it once after every 6 months if you are using it a few times in a month.
  • Air Induction Valves: Once the above step is done then the user needs to turn off all the air induction valves simply by turning the valves fully in the clockwise direction. This will help to force the water to circulate in the internal plumbing of the jetted tub to concentrate the flow as well as clean it deeper. It is advisable to always refer to the manufacturer’s directions for cleaning the specific model of jetted tub.
  • Dishwashing Liquid: Add 2 tbsp of dishwashing liquid into the water. If the liquid detergent is not available then use 4 tbsp of the powdered dish detergent. Besides all this, only use a low-foaming dishwashing liquid as this will not overflow the tub with the bubbles. The detergent will help to loosen the greasy residue that is left behind in the jets by using soap or bubble bath liquids.
  • White Vinegar: Now the next step is to put 1/2 cup of the white vinegar into the jetted tub. The vinegar is a more eco-friendly option. The vinegar also helps to disinfect during the cleaning.
  • Run The Jets: At the full capacity of the jet, run it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Keep the jets on the highest pressure and then turn the jets on to clean them out. Any kind of the gunk that is caught in the jets will be coming out from the water. If still there is grime coming out from the jets even after 15 minutes, then it is advisable to keep the jets on until no more dirt is coming out from the water.
  • Drain The Tub: Now the user needs to drain the water from the tub & then refill it with the cold water. Again fill up the tub to 2–3 inches above the jets, but this time with the cold water. The cold water is the best option for the second cycle & this is because the second cycle is to give the jets a final rinse. Do not add any of the cleaning products to the water this time.
  • Run The Jets Again: For another 10 minutes, run the jets again on high power. This will help to remove all the remaining residue that is loosened with the detergent and the hot water. It is important to make sure that there is no more gunk in the water before turning the jets off. Leave the tub to run for another 5 minutes if the water from the jets are still coming out with a bit of dirt.
  • Drain The Tub And Wipe It Clean: Drain all the dirty water out of the tub. Take a clean rag to wipe up any of the residues that may be left on the surface of the jetted tub. Use an old toothbrush to getting into the corners of the jets. Finally, wipe tub clean and then rinse away any kind of the debris.
