- Apply The Solution: Now the user needs to apply the paste solution directly to the stained area of the composite granite sink. Take a putty knife or plastic spatula or even an old wood. Then apply the paste in layers that must be approximately half an inch thick.
- Plastic Wrap: After the above steps are done then the user needs to cover the pasted area with the help of plastic wrap. Secure down the plastic wrap on each of the edges using a piece of tape. This will help to allow the paste to fully get absorbed as well as lift the stain.
- Allow The Paste To Dry Completely: Leave the paste to sit for at least 24 hours. In some cases, this can take up to 2 days. This variation in the time period is due to the directions mentioned on the whiting powder product.
- Remove The Plastic: After the completion of the said time, remove the wrap as well as wipe away the dried paste. Take a very blunt scraping tool for removing the dried paste so that the user doesn't scratch the sink. Or use a soft sponge to remove as much as possible, then after that throw it away. One of the important things to remember is don't attempt to wash all of the paste into the drain, as it can clog the pipes.
- Rinse The Area With Water: Remove any of the remaining paste residues with the help of a damp sponge or simply by pouring or spraying the water on the affected area where the paste was applied. Repeat this process as required. If in case the stain has not been removed from the granite sink then go through the process again. Sometimes it can take up to 5 times for this process to fully lift & clean the tough stains.
Way 2: Maintaining A Clean Sink
- Rinse And Dry Granite Sink: After each use the user must completely rinse as well as dry the sink. Rinsing the sink will help to prevent food and debris from drying as well as hardening on the granite surface, and wiping the sink dry can protect the sink from any kind of the minerals that exist in the tap water.
- Remove Stains Promptly: Granite is usually a porous stone, so it is important to clean up a stain as soon as possible which is better. It is highly advisable to only blot at a fresh stain rather than rubbing as this will help in not spreading it to a larger area.
