How To Build A Waterbed Frame: Step By Step Procedure Of Building A Waterbed Frame

Usually, there are two important reasons to craft the frame of the waterbed. The first is the expense and it will be less costly if the users do it themself. The other reason is the versatility and the customized building as well. It will be very hard to determine what exactly they are looking in their waterbed frame. The waterbed is more than the normal frame that eventually holds up the water bag in its place and also sits on the base so as to raise it higher than the floor. The users need to buy the water bag and the other important fittings before they consider crafting the waterbed.

Step By Step Procedure & Items Required For Building A Waterbed Frame

The users can easily build a waterbed frame by gathering the below-mentioned materials and then following the below-defined step by step procedure:

Materials Required

  • 2-Inch Wood Screws, Wood Glue & Square
  • C" Clamps, Hammer & Countersink Bit
  • Drill, 8 Pieces Of 1/4-Inch Doweling
  • 2 Pieces Of Finished Timber Of Size 60x3x6 1/2
  • 2 Pieces Of The Finished Timer Of Size 86x3x6 1/2
  • Sheet Board

Procedure

  • Identify Board Edges: Start by marking the sheet board so that the users will exactly know where it will be united. They need to identify the outer corners.
  • Drill Screw The Holes: Then drill down the board one and a half inches within the corners and about seven and a half inches apart. Use the countersink bit and the wooden screws so as to make the shoulder within each one of the holes so that the users can easily drive their screws till they find out that the tops are on the same level with the board surface.
  • Preparing The Frame: The users need to unite the 4 timber frame corners so as to make the rectangular-shaped frame. One of the easiest ways to make this frame is by using the wood-dwelling.
  • Trim The Dwelling: They need to trim cleanly the doweling into the six-inch length with the 2 lengths for each one of the joints.
  • Make A Groove: Then evaluate the doweling in a way that there will be the hollow groove the entire length of each of the pieces. Then at the side ends they need to take down the line one and a half inches from the edge and cross each of the line two inches and the four inches within the face of the base.
  • Clamp The Side: The users need to use the C Clamps so as to hold up the one side edge adjacent to the other frame edge at the ninth degrees. The users can easily achieve this step smoothly if they are having the board piece that is trimmed at the right angles so that they can easily adjust the pieces to the corners. Then the users will easily have the L-shaped construction.
  • Drill The 2 Pieces: The users need to use the one by four-inch sized drill bit so as to drill down the hole within each mark that usually crosses the one and a half-inch lines as per the 6 inches depth within the side and to the edge pieces.
  • Label Each Joint: They need to mark down the corners so that they can easily unite them together after they drill up the holes within the same pattern, they need to mark down the other edges as well.
  • Assemble The Frame: Once the users drilled all the joints of the corner then they need to layout the frame. They need to be assured that they have matched all the pieces together that are drilled.
  • Install The Doweling: The users then need to apply the wood glue coat to the doweling piece and then tap it down slowly in one of the holes that are drilled so that it will pass within the edge piece and within the side piece as well. The users need to clean off the unneeded glue that will get forced out of the grove within the doweling.
  • Complete The Frame: The users need to install down all the doweling and they need to be assured that the joints are in the right manner.
  • Fit The Baseboard: The user needs to lay down the frame over the floor surface and then apply the generous wood coat glue at the central most line of each one of the sides and the edge as well. They need to lay down the baseboard over the frame and then determine it accordingly so that the line corners will easily align and then clamp it down. The users need to use the drilled holes and then fasten down the baseboard with the frame. The users need to be assured that the screws are driven so that they will be at the level as per the board surface.
  • Clean The Base: Finally the users need to rotate down the base and then clean off the unneeded glue. Once the users find out that the glue is dried then they need to install their heater, water bag, and the other necessary controls as well.
