5 Easy Steps To Build/Design Sandblasting Booth

The sandblasting is a technique for making the surface smooth. There are a few reasons to sandblast wood furniture like it will help to remove a thick coat of paint so that the user can refinish the old chest, chair, or cabinet to give them a full makeover. The easy steps for making, building or designing a Sandblasting booth are as follows:
  1. Sandblasting Encloser: It is the cheap and easy way to make a form of sandblasting cabinet. It will keep the work area clean and there will be less blasting material.
  2. Layout Cuts: Plan where the window is going to be and spacing is best for the armholes. Also, the user needs to think where the air hose to enter from left or right. The location of a vent is also important to plan. The user can cut the whole center of the top out. It will make the window big enough. Keep the airline to come in from the right side. So vent will exit on the left side.
  3. Make Some Holes: Place the window in top and mark on the glass exactly where the caulk line had to go. Then flip the glass over and ran a bead of hot glue on the glass and press them together. Use 4 screws to hold it in place until the caulk dries.
  4. Gloves And Wood Bulkheads: Make wood bulkheads to get a good seal where the glove will enter. The wood bulkhead is a thin plywood square having a hole in the center 2 inside and 2 outside, run small bolts through the wood and seal the gloves with the tote. Place the glove in the hole and try to stretch as far across the tote. Then cut 1-inch slits all around the end so it could be attached to the backside of the wood bulkhead. Staple the gloves and put a bead of glue around the inside as well as outside edge then tight the bolts to make a good seal.
  5. Vent And Hose: Use rubber sheet, cut the fins for the hose to pass through without leaving a large open hole. Place a piece of rubber on the inside as well as outside caulking and bolt to ensure a durable pass. Using 2 inch PVC pipe run across the back of the tote and drill holes on the backside, this will reduce the amount of blasting material from escaping with the air.
