Easy Steps To Build/Make A Planter Box

Your flower box is a kind of a container that usually comes in the form of a planter, which is normally placed outdoors & used for displaying your live plants & flowers, but the planter box may also be used for growing herbs and edible plants. If you want to make your own planter box with attached legs then you just need to read & follow all the mentioned steps. Here are some easy steps to build the planer box yourself:
  • Start your work by cutting the 2x4 legs to 35 inches and then cut all the sides and front and back boards out of your 1x6'. Now you have to cut all the sides to 21 inches and the front & back boards to 41 inches. You can adjust the sizes to fit according to your needs.
  • Next, you have to drill the 3/4" pocket holes into each end of all 8 of 1x6 backboards. Now you can easily see the top backboards are flipped over all the revealing pocket holes and also make sure to sand your wood before you build your planter box.
  • Now start the process of building your planter box, by attaching all the sides to the wooden legs, in order to do this you need to apply some wood glue & a 1/4" pocket hole screws. Be sure that your board is flush with the top of the wooden legs.
  • Now you have to attach the long front and the backboards. Attach them with wood glue and 1 1/4" pocket hole screws. When the one side is done, now flip it over and then attach the other longboards to the wooden legs.
  • Now you have to attach the inside slat support boards. For this, you can use scrap wood, cut lost is 1x2's. If you are using 1x2's then place them with the boards(1x6 very bottom) and then screw them in place and also add small scrap of 1x2 to support the 1x3 slats.
  • Now it's time to add slat, use scrap 1x3 boards, and then nailed them into the support boards.
  • At last, you need to make a top of your planter box, use 13x board and cut the ends at 45 degrees and make them the length of your planter. Measure 48" long point to front and back long point and 24"inch for the sides and then apply wood glue on it.
