Easiest Way Of Building A Nightstand With A Drawer

  • Frame Of The Drawer: Using the lumber, glue and one 1/4” inch pocket screws build the frame of the drawer. Cut out all the components at the right needed size before securing them into place. With the help of a spirit level make sure that the components are horizontally correct after that align them at both ends, before inserting the one 1/4 inch pocket screws. Now the user needs to attach the 1×2 rails to the side aprons and then secure it with the glue and one 1/4 inch screws. Also, drill all the pilot holes, to prevent the wood from splitting.
  • Build The Bottom Shelf: With the help of lumber build the slats and glue them all together, before attaching to the supports. Sand down the cut edges and then notch the corners of all the ends of slats, before securing them into place. Drill out the pilot holes in the slats, the user needs to countersink their heads and then insert one 1/4 inch pocket screws. Make sure that the ends of the slats are well flush with the supports.
  • Building A Drawer: To build the drawer for the nightstand is a straight forward task. The size of the drawer must be slightly smaller as compared to the opening. In this way, the drawer will slide well along the rails. Cut the boards at the right size according to the need and then join them all together with the help of pocket screws and glue. Clampdown all the components together, this will help to have strong joints.
  • Build The Top: It is important to make sure the nightstand top overhangs at least 1” inch on all sides of the table. Lockdown all the slats together with the help of pocket screws and glue. Drill pilot holes through the top and then insert 2-inch screws, countersink their head or drill the pocket screws through the aprons and then insert one 1/4 inch screws. To enhance the bond add the glue.
