Steps To Build A Kitchen Cabinets
Below are the steps that the customers need to follow while building kitchen cabinets:
- Gather Tools And Material: The customers need to collect all the materials and tools that are required for making kitchen cabinets like half-inch plywood, jigsaw router, drill, wood glue, table saw, wood putty, sandpaper, measuring tape, drawer slides, flathead screws, sander, hinges, etc.
- Design Your Cabinets: The customers need to design a sketch of the kitchen cabinet on paper and mark the size dimensions for the kitchen cabinet doors, drawers, and for the depth of the cabinets.
- Cut The Side Panels: Now the customers need to cut the plywood for the side panels of the cabinet. The plywood material must be strong and durable. Create a toe-kick that clamps the side panels with one another. Take a jigsaw and at the bottom front corner of the panel make a groove and then after cutting remove the clamp from the groove.
- Cut Bottom Panel: Now the next step is to cut the plywood for bottom panel according to the size dimensions of the kitchen cabinet.
- Cut Two Base Panels: The customers need to take a lumber board and cut the two same base panels according to the size dimensions of the bottom panel.
- Cut The Top Bracers: Now the customers need to cut the two same pieces for securing the side panels.
- Cut The Face Panels: Next step that the customers need to perform is cutting the plywood for the face panels according to the size dimensions of the kitchen cabinet.
- Put Together The Base: Now the customers need to arrange the two base panels with the bottom panel to form the toe-kick. Then attach the base panels by using glue and drill holes then secure the panels by using butt joints and screws.
- Add The Side Panels: The customers need to fix the side panels with the base by using glue, drilling holes and securing by using screws. The customers need to make sure that the panels are leveled at 90-degree angle.
- Secure The Top Braces: Attach one of the top braces at the upper portion of the cabinet and glue the other top brace at the front of the cabinet.
- Nail On A Back Panel: Now the customers need to cut the plywood for the back panel and screw the back panel at its place.
- Reinforce The Connections: Check and strengthen the connections by using screws and corner brackets.
- Insert The Shelves: Next step is to insert shelves. The customers need to determine the dimensions of the shelf then fix four corner brackets for shelves and glide the shelves.
- Assemble And Install The Face Panels: Arrange and fix the face panels by using the mitered joint. For securing the face panels together use a tenon and mortise joint. For finishing the cabinets apply stain or paint on the cabinets.
- Fit And Attach The Cabinets: Carefully fit the cabinets at their proper location and secure them properly.
- Install The Doors: Purchase the door panels and install them according to the recommended instructions.
