  • 1/2-Inch Plywood
  • Nail Gun
  • Packing Paper
  • Cardboard
  • 1-Inch Wood Screws

Steps

After collecting the required item, now you need to follow the given steps to complete this task:
  • Step 1: The first thing is to measure the thickness of your glass tabletop with the help of a measuring tape. If your tabletop is less than three inches then you have to use 2-by-4-inch boards to make a frame for the crate of your tabletop. The thicker table needs 2-by-6-inch boards.
  • Step 2: Grab a utility knife and cut 2 pieces of 2-by-4-inch foam board according to the length of tabletop and 2 pieces according to the width of the tabletop, leave en extra inch for length and width side. Now, arrange all the pieces of foam board in a rectangular and square shape by laying down the 2 length pieces so they are perpendicular then use the 2 width pieces to bridge the space betwixt the ends.
  • Step 3: Now, measure the length of your foam frame and then use a jigsaw to cut the two pieces of 2-by-4-inch or 2-by-6-inch hardwood according to the taken measurement, also measure the width and cut an extra two pieces of 2-by-4-inch or 2-by-6-inch wood according to the previous measurement and then arrange all the pieces of wood in a rectangular or square frame because all the sides of the wood are affluent with the sides of your foam boards.
  • Step 4: Now, it's time to secure all the four pieces of the wooden frame by using the nails from a nail gun. Drive the nails direct the extracurricular of the width pieces of the created frame into the length pieces. Now, cut 2 sheets of your 1/2-inch plywood by using the length and width measurements of your completed wood frame.
  • Step 5: After doing all the previous steps now lay down the wood-and-foam frame flat on the solid ground and place 1 of the plywood sheets on top of it, positioning the edges. Use the nail gun to drive all nails through with the plywood into the wooden frame to secure it in the right place and then flip the frame over so the plywood lays flat on the ground properly.
  • Step 6: Now, wrap glass tabletop in packing paper then sandwich it betwixt 2 pieces of cardboard and cut it to the accurate attribute of the tabletop and then place your tabletop inside the wood-and-foam frame so the inferior layer of cardboard lies flat against the sheet of your plywood.
  • Step 7: Remember to fill any space betwixt the top layer of cardboard and the top of your wood-and-foam frame with additive sheets of cardboard or foam. Lay the leftover sheet of plywood on top of your wood-and-foam frame and align the edges.
  • Step 9: Insert one-inch wood screws through the top of your plywood into the wooden frame to secure it the lid in place. Use 1 screw in each corner and extra screws spaced every four to six inches in between. After doing this, now, you will be able to remove the screws, take off the plywood lid and lift your glass tabletop out of your crate.
