  • One Sheet Of 1/4” Veneer Plywood For The Door Panels
  • 3/4” Decorative Molding
  • Four Sheets Of 1/2” Drywall, Drywall Tools, Drywall Tape And Joint Compound

Steps For This Process

  • If you are going to remove a bathtub/shower then you need to turn off the main valve water. Demo your tile & drywall to get down to your wall studs. Remove your tub & the faucet then install shut-off valves.
  • Now you need to install drywall where the tile was removed. Also, tape the seams & apply joint compound. Let it dry wholly.
  • Next you need to sketch a design for your cabinet & make a cut-list from the sketch. You need to make an upper cabinet separate the lower cabinet. Cut all your wood by using the table saw for the long rips & the circular or miter saw for crosscuts. Assemble your upper cabinet by using glue & the finish nailer. The lower cabinet is built in place.
  • Then you need to cut the frames from the 1x6 for your cabinet doors. You need to use a router to cut a groove into the frame pieces to hold your panel. Assemble your frame with glue & nail gun leaving the top open. Now you need to cut your plywood panel to size then slide it into the 3-piece frame. Now you need to attach your last frame piece with glue & a nail gun. Cut out the holes for your door hinges. Clamp & leave it to dry. Repeat for your other door.
  • You need to build your lower cabinet in place. Also, fasten ledger boards to your wall at the studs. Cut the front piece of your lower cabinet to size & nail it to the ledger boards.
  • Next you need to cut the top piece of your lower cabinet to size. Cut your decorative edge to the correct length then you need to use a nail gun to fasten it on to the outer edge of your top piece.
  • You need to create two hinged openings in the top of your lower cabinet to serve as hampers. Measure & mark for the hinged openings. Cut out the openings then sand the edges to smooth it. Fasten all the piano hinges to the top piece and to the cut-out piece.
  • You need to install the top piece of your lower cabinet by nailing it on to your ledger boards all around the edges.
  • Now you need to place your upper cabinet on top and then you need to attach it to your lower cabinet with the help of a nail gun and then you need to cover the edges & nail holes with the quarter-round lumber cut to size.
  • Next you have to prime & paint the sanded drywall surrounding your cabinet.
  • You need to stain your cabinet then apply a coat of polyurethane.
  • Finally you need to attach your upper cabinet doors with adjustable screws.
