Materials Required
- 2-By-2-By-48 Inch Fir Lumber, Handsaw & 3/16-Inch Bit
- Drill/Driver, Wood glue & 3-Inch Wood Screws
- 5/16-Inch Drill Bit, 1/4-By-3-Inch Lag Bolts
- 1/4-Inch Socket, Washers & Ratchet
- 1 1/2-Inch Wood Screws
Procedure
- Measure The Length: Start by placing the headboard on to its back and then calculate the length of the legs of the headboard.
- Trim The Lumber Pieces: Then the users need to trim the 2 pieces of the fir lumber & calculate the length of legs by using the handsaw. Then the users require drilling down the 4 holes and each one of the holes needs to be evenly spaced within them by using the drill/driver. Then they need to apply the wood glue and then screw them within the inner areas of both the legs by using the screws in a way that they will flush with the front-side of the headboard leg. In order to screw down the headboard with the platform, the users need to use the screw cleats respectively.
- Place The Headboard: Then they need to place the headboard in a place that should be adjacent to the bed. The headboard feet should lay flat over the floor, compacted adjacent to the platform bedsides. Then they need to hold the drill vertically and then drill the 2 holes that should be spaced evenly within the screw cleats by using the drill bit. Then the users need to make them between the screw cleats coming out so that the drilled holes will face towards the bed accordingly.
- Drill The Pilot Holes: Then they need to place the bit to the driver/drill and then drill the way within the holes to the bed so as to make the pilot holes that can be used for the lag screws.
- Place The Washers: Then the users require to place the washers to the lag bolts and then place the bolts on all of the drilled holes. Then they need to fasten them by using the ratchet and the socket as well.
- Secure The Rail: Finally the users need to drill 4 holes within the vertical rail that is within the headboard legs. The rail is tightly adjacent to the bed back and then the users need to use the bit so as to drill the holes with the rail center. Then they need to place the screws within the holes and then fasten them so as to secure the rail that is placed at the bed backside respectively.
