3 Easy Methods To Apply Osmo polyx Oil To Furniture

In order to apply osmo oil to the furniture, you can follow the below given methods to achieve the best results:

Method 1- Sanding

  1. Prepare: Always remember to work in an area that is well-ventilated mainly outdoors, use a face mask, hand gloves, and eye goggles to save yourself from any type of damage.
  2. Clean And Dry: Use a floor cleaner to wash your floor by using a clean cloth and then dry the floor with a microfiber cloth. If you have a dehumidifier, then use it until the humidity in your room is below 50 percent.
  3. Sand: Use a sanding block or sandpaper in order to remove any old varnishes or lacquers for a smaller area and then if you’re working on the whole floor then a band or drum sander with attached 40-60 grit sandpaper and then attach 100-120 grit sandpaper for light sanding process.
  4. Fill: Use a wood filler if you have any dents and holes. Clean the dust before applying the wood filler. Apply wood with a putty knife and spread it over the holes and dents. Let the filler dry for a few hours.
  5. Sand & Vacuum: Now, sand the filled area with medium sandpaper (100-120) and rub it over the wood. Now, vacuum the area to remove dust and dirt from your floor.

Method 2-Applying The First Coat

  1. Stir: Use a paint stick to stir the osmo oil until the oil that's set-apart is blended. Pour some of your osmo oil on the paint- tray.
  2. Dip: Now, dip a flooring brushwood into the osmo polyx oil in paint tray and dab it over your wood floor.
  3. Scrub: Take your brush and scrub it against the grain of wood floor to spread the osmo oil over a larger space of your wood floor. Scrub the brush until your brush is dry fully.

Method 3- Spreading The Second Coat

  1. Dry: After following the previous methods, now let your wood floor dry for at least 24 hours and apply 1 more coat
  2. Apply: Now, apply second coat of osmo oil on your wood floor as you do before and remember to work against the grain of your wood floor.
  3. Clean: After applying the osmo oil polish now, clean your brush and paint tray with the help of paint thinner because this will help your brush from drying from osmo oil.
  4. Dispose: Remember to dispose of any oil-soaked materials, never throw these types of items in your home dustbin.
  5. Dry: After following each and every step, now let your wood floor dry for at least 8-24 hours after applying the second coat.
