3 Easy Methods To Apply Osmo polyx Oil To Furniture
In order to apply osmo oil to the furniture, you can follow the below given methods to achieve the best results:
Method 1- Sanding
- Prepare: Always remember to work in an area that is well-ventilated mainly outdoors, use a face mask, hand gloves, and eye goggles to save yourself from any type of damage.
- Clean And Dry: Use a floor cleaner to wash your floor by using a clean cloth and then dry the floor with a microfiber cloth. If you have a dehumidifier, then use it until the humidity in your room is below 50 percent.
- Sand: Use a sanding block or sandpaper in order to remove any old varnishes or lacquers for a smaller area and then if you’re working on the whole floor then a band or drum sander with attached 40-60 grit sandpaper and then attach 100-120 grit sandpaper for light sanding process.
- Fill: Use a wood filler if you have any dents and holes. Clean the dust before applying the wood filler. Apply wood with a putty knife and spread it over the holes and dents. Let the filler dry for a few hours.
- Sand & Vacuum: Now, sand the filled area with medium sandpaper (100-120) and rub it over the wood. Now, vacuum the area to remove dust and dirt from your floor.
Method 2-Applying The First Coat
- Stir: Use a paint stick to stir the osmo oil until the oil that's set-apart is blended. Pour some of your osmo oil on the paint- tray.
- Dip: Now, dip a flooring brushwood into the osmo polyx oil in paint tray and dab it over your wood floor.
- Scrub: Take your brush and scrub it against the grain of wood floor to spread the osmo oil over a larger space of your wood floor. Scrub the brush until your brush is dry fully.
Method 3- Spreading The Second Coat
- Dry: After following the previous methods, now let your wood floor dry for at least 24 hours and apply 1 more coat
- Apply: Now, apply second coat of osmo oil on your wood floor as you do before and remember to work against the grain of your wood floor.
- Clean: After applying the osmo oil polish now, clean your brush and paint tray with the help of paint thinner because this will help your brush from drying from osmo oil.
- Dispose: Remember to dispose of any oil-soaked materials, never throw these types of items in your home dustbin.
- Dry: After following each and every step, now let your wood floor dry for at least 8-24 hours after applying the second coat.
